Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers have just one goal for the 2025 NFL season. They want to win a Super Bowl.
That was made even more clear by the franchise waiting all offseason to sign Aaron Rodgers. He has officially agreed to a one-year deal with the Steelers, which gives the team more hope of making their deep playoff run hopes become a reality.
Ahead of training camp and preseason action, there is another storyline to watch. T.J. Watt was absent from the team's mandatory minicamp as he works through a contract dispute with Pittsburgh.
Earlier this offseason, the Cleveland Browns gave Myles Garrett a massive four-year, $160 million contract extension. Watt deserves to be paid as well.

While there is still optimism that the two sides will work something out, there is a little concern within the Steelers' fan base about Watt's future with the team.
Now, as the rumors continue to swirl regarding Watt, Tomlin has spoken out with a bold message about the situation.
"Certainly, we'd like him to be here, but certainly not surprised by where we are," Tomlin said. "We've expressed a desire to get the business done. He has as well. So, we'll continue to work. We've been here before."
At this point, it's clear that Tomlin is not concerned about Watt's status with the team. Pittsburgh fans should expect to see the two sides work out a deal long before Week 1 arrives.
Watt has been one of the best pass rushers in the NFL for years. In fact, he could go down as one of the best to ever rush the passer.

Throughout his career, Watt has played in 121 games. All of those games have come with the Steelers and he has totaled 462 tackles, 108 sacks, 33 forced fumbles, 12 fumble recoveries, seven interceptions, and 50 defended passes.
Last season, Watt continued his impressive career. He racked up 61 tackles, 11.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and four defended passes in 17 games.
Hopefully, the two sides will be able to work out a deal soon. As Tomlin noted, there is mutual interest on both sides to get a deal done. That bodes well for their chances of hammering out a new contract in the near future.
