According to Forbes’ Evan Sidery, wherever Durant is traded, there is a strong indication that he will sign a two-year, $120 million extension this offseason.
This would mean Durant’s new team would have him under contract for a total of $174.7 million over three years, including $54.7 million next season, $57.3 million in 2026-27, and $62.7 million in the 2027-28 season.
For now, the San Antonio Spurs are widely seen as the frontrunner to trade for Durant this summer, with the player reportedly eager to bring his talents to San Antonio.
Durant will be entering his 18th NBA season next year. At 36 years old, he remains one of the league’s best, averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists this season for the Suns.
