Kevin Durant Expected to Make $120 Million Move After Eventual Suns Trade

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant will likely be moved in a trade in the coming two weeks. The expectation is that the Suns will deal him before the NBA Draft.

Phoenix posted another underwhelming campaign, this time missing the NBA Playoffs altogether with a 36-46 record, which was good for the No. 11 seed in the Western Conference.

With Durant and Devin Booker at the helm, the result on the season was far from acceptable.

The Suns aimed to make a change at the trade deadline, even offering Durant in a deal. With Bradley Beal's contract situation, moving the 15-time All-Star is the easiest way for Phoenix to retool around Booker.

The San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets are the two teams consistently linked to a Durant trade, though the Toronto Raptors have emerged as another candidate to land him.

Don't count out the Minnesota Timberwolves or New York Knicks, either.

Regardless, with a handful of options, the Suns will move on from Durant and start a new era retooling around Booker -- their franchise superstar.

What's next for Durant? Wherever he lands, the two-time champion is expected to ink a two-year, $120 million deal, as Evan Sidery shared on X.

While this isn't a direct report, it's certainly fair to expect Durant to have a pre-agreed-upon deal in place for wherever he lands to ink the said contract extension.

Headed into the final year of his contract, Durant remains a very, very productive superstar in the NBA. Players of his caliber don't necessarily head into contract years often unless it's their choice.

While it's a steep price for a player that will be 37-years-old next season, Durant is an all-time talent and has proven to be an elite talent despite his age.

The Suns will avoid paying an older superstar for three more years, too, delegating that to another team looking to get over the hump.
