Marcus Spears Says NFC QB Is Under Pressure This Season

The Dallas Cowboys came into the offseason in need of some changes, especially on offense.

At times, they’ve looked like one of the best teams in football, but their roster has been missing a few pieces to get them over the top.

One of the pieces fans have been clamoring for is a wide receiver to complement CeeDee Lamb, someone who can draw attention away from him to open up opportunities.

The front office seemed to listen to these frustrations, as they made a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers to acquire George Pickens.

Pickens has had off-field issues, but there’s no denying the talent he’s displayed.

With this addition, analyst Marcus Spears said the onus is now on quarterback Dak Prescott.

“You up, Dak Prescott,” Spears said, via NFL on ESPN. “There will be no excuses, as long as your offensive line protects you.”

One new wide receiver might not be enough by himself, but it could be a starting point for Prescott to get himself back into the NFL MVP conversation.

He’s had to rely on Lamb a lot, but if Pickens can contribute as expected, there’s no telling what this offense is capable of moving forward.

The Cowboys have a new head coach in Brian Schottenheimer, but Prescott has played in the NFL long enough to be adaptable and learn whatever is asked of him.
