Arsenal are currently in talks with the agent of Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres about sealing a transfer for the striker, according to CNN Portugal.
The Gunners are in the market to sign a new striker this summer to bolster Mikel Arteta's squad, after finishing as Premier League runners-up for a third consecutive season.
The club have been advancing in talks to sign RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko in recent weeks, but it has now emerged that they are still in the mix for the Sweden international with meetings ongoing between them and the player's agent.

Striker set to leave Sporting this summer

Gyokeres, who has been described as 'unstoppable', has scored 54 goals in 52 appearances for the Portuguese giants this season and is now set to leave the club this summer.
However, while Arsenal reportedly agreed terms with the former Coventry star last month, no deal has been agreed with Sporting and the club president has come out and revealed that there is a gentleman's agreement to sell him for less than his release clause - although not for as low as some reports have suggested.
Now while appearing on CNN Portugal, journalist Nuno Farinha has revealed the latest information on the future of the 27-year-old striker.
"Arsenal is the club he wants to play for. No value has been put out. Over the last few days they've been speaking with the Arsenal owners. Arsenal have not put in an offer yet to Sporting. Nothing formal has been put to Sporting. We're trying to find out more information, but it looks like he wants Arsenal."
Arsenal's move for Sesko is also said to be progressing, with personal terms agreed with the 21-year-old as Andrea Berta works on both deals simultaneously before pulling the trigger.
But it's clear that a move for Gyokeres isn't dead yet, and this new development could be a turning point in their bid for a new top-class number nine.
