Chelsea’s transfer plans have temporarily been put on hold as the window closes until the Club World Cup gets underway in the United States.
The Blues added Liam Delap to their ranks, however have so far been unable to complete the signings of Jamie Gittens and Mike Maignan.
However, the club have been able to officially announce the additions of two players whose deals were already completed before the transfer window even began.
Former Strasbourg centre-back Mamadou Sarr has been unveiled, while the same has occurred for Dario Essugo.
Despite being young, the expectation was for Essugo to remain with the first team and offer cover for superstar Moises Caicedo.

Chelsea’s official shirt number announcement suggests Joao Felix’s Blues career is over
However, the club’s official announcement on their website stated that the midfielder would become the new number 14, hinting he is set to play a big part next season.
He has taken the number of Joao Felix, who is currently not assigned a shirt number for the upcoming campaign.
Felix was sent on loan in January to AC Milan, and Chelsea will not be taking him to the Club World Cup, with his career at the club surely over.
