Mike Greenberg Makes Big Prediction About Aaron Rodgers, Steelers

Aaron Rodgers didn’t look good with the New York Jets last season.

Then again, even his down years would be a career year for some quarterbacks.

As much as Rodgers may have contributed to the Jets’ debacle on and off the field, it’s hard to point the finger solely at him after everything that transpired in New York.

Notably, that’s why Mike Greenberg is optimistic about Rodgers’ upcoming tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Greenberg, a diehard Jets fan, claimed that Rodgers wasn’t nearly as bad as people made him out to be last season.

“I think this is going to go way better than most people are anticipating. I think he is going to play well, and I think the Steelers are gonna win a bunch of games,” Greenberg said on “Get Up.”

More than that, Greenberg said he thinks Rodgers is not going to be the face of the team or the culture-setter in Pittsburgh because that is head coach Mike Tomlin.

As such, Rodgers will be able to focus solely on playing.

Some players need more than a year to return to their former selves after a major injury, and that might be the case with Rodgers.

Then again, the Steelers have some huge question marks in the offensive line, and Rodgers is not particularly mobile at this point in his career following an Achilles injury two seasons ago.

But if the Steelers manage to give him a clean pocket and keep him out of harm’s way, he might be a significant upgrade over everything they’ve had since Ben Roethlisberger was in his prime.
