Manchester United are seemingly missing out on key targets left, right and centre already this transfer window as their bid to remodel the squad continues.
Whilst The Red Devils have signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, we’re yet to see any other major signing this summer.
The transfer window has now closed for a week cool-off before opening up once more for the full summer after this initial fortnight to allow clubs to recruit in time for the Club World Cup.
Already United have missed out on Liam Delap who’s joined Chelsea, Sverre Halseth Nypan who’s reportedly on route to Manchester City and Barcelona have snapped up Joan Garcia.
However, Ruben Amorim looks set to miss out on Angel Gomes, United’s former midfielder who’s excelled since joining LOSC Lille.

Angel Gomes heads to Marseille
Gomes left Old Trafford for Ligue 1 in 2020 and since then has made 134 appearances for the French side, grabbing 10 goals and 19 assists across central midfield, both flanks and attacking midfield.
The England international has been linked for months with a move back to United with his contract coming to an end this summer, making him a cheap option to bolster Amorim’s midfield.
With Christian Eriksen leaving at the end of his contract, Mason Mount continuously out through injury and the club looking to cash in on Casemiro, a new, versatile midfielder is definitely needed at Old Trafford.
However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Gomes is attending a medical today to see the attacking midfielder move to Marseille.
This is yet another incredible opportunity missed by United to bring a truly impressive player to Old Trafford for free, which could have helped the club with their mounting financial pressures.
