It’s been known for several months that Marcus Rashford is expected to leave Manchester United this summer.

The 27-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, impressed during his brief spell.

The Englishman reminded the Premier League of the quality he still possesses when fully fit and focused.

So much, to the point where he received an England call-up, back in March.

His upturn in form was seen as a calculated move to raise his value, amid Ruben Amorim’s need to rebuild to get the club back to the top.

Amorim has wasted little time in asserting control, with Alejandro Garnacho set to be sold too.

Rashford has long been linked with a switch to Barcelona.

The Catalan giants identified him as a key attacking target dating back to the January window.

But according to Fabrizio Romano on DAZN, Rashford has now received concrete offers from both English and Saudi clubs, as he weighs up his next move.

“The deal didn’t happen at the time due to Ansu Fati’s refusal to leave.

“Now, with Fati’s departure to Monaco imminent, Rashford is still waiting for Barcelona and considers it his first choice.

“That is despite offers from English and Saudi clubs.”

Thus, disrupting a potential deal for Rashford.

Now, with Fati close to finalising a move to Monaco, the path could soon be clear again.

Rashford’s preference to join Barcelona is one that was known, even during his time at Villa.

Despite that, the presence of multiple offers means the coming weeks could be decisive in shaping Rashford’s future away from Manchester United.

United fans will mainly be hoping the club receive the highest amount possible for the 27-year-old.
