Ruben Amorim watched world-class manager drop powerful verdict on Man Utd star, actions always speak louder than words…

Ruben Amorim now faces a big question mark over one first-team Manchester United player at Old Trafford after one manager’s telling stance this summer.

The 40-year-old Manchester United manager has begun a tough start to life in England after he left Sporting CP last November and took charge of the Red Devils.

Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout during the 2024-25 Premier League campaign and United continued their dwindling form in the season.

The Red Devils ended last season in 15th place in the Premier League table and United also lost to Tottenham 1-0 in Bilbao in the 2025 Europa League final in May.

United will be without European football at Old Trafford in the 2025-26 campaign and Amorim faces a mammoth task of putting the club back on the path to success.

Amorim led United for a two-match post-season tour of Asia in May and the former Sporting CP boss is now overhauling his first-team squad amid the summer window.

Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti showed Ruben Amorim what he thinks of Man Utd winger Antony during World Cup qualifiers

Antony left Old Trafford during the January transfer window and the Brazil international completed a six-month loan move to La Liga club Real Betis.

Real Betis agreed to cover the majority of Antony’s Manchester United wages and the winger was offered the chance to revive his career away from Old Trafford.

Antony impressed during his loan spell for the Spanish side and the 25-year-old Brazilian attacker netted nine times and picked up five assists in 26 matches.

The United winger had fallen down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim and Antony regained his place with the Brazil national team again after his form at Betis.

Antony linked up with his Brazil teammates and reported for his country’s matches against Ecuador and Paraguay in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

However, the former Ajax ace didn’t manage a single minute under Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti, who left Real Madrid and took charge of the national team in May.

Carlo Ancelotti left Antony as an unused substitute for Brazil’s 0-0 draw with Ecuador last Friday and he was on the bench for the 1-0 win over Paraguay on Wednesday.

Carlo Ancelotti’s decision over Antony with Brazil shows what Ruben Amorim must do next at Man Utd

Despite being recalled to the Brazil team this summer, Carlo Ancelotti’s actions really do speak volumes about Antony, despite the United star’s resurgence in form.

Antony does face tough competition in playing for Brazil in the first place, sure, but the Betis winger pales in comparison to the other options at Ancelotti’s disposal.

Ancelotti is widely regarded as one of the best managers of all time and for him not to look at Antony as an option in either World Cup qualifier is telling for United fans.

Antony’s deal with Betis comes to an end on 30th June and it remains unclear if the Spanish side will be willing to make his move permanent with an offer to United.

The United star’s contract at Old Trafford expires in 2027, but it’s clear that Amorim needs to move Antony on this summer rather than giving out second chances.
