Over the last few days, questions have swirled about the future of the coaching staff for the Dallas Mavericks.
Now, basically all of those questions have been answered.
Mike Curtis is reporting that the Mavs have agreed to a deal with former Sacramento Kings assistant Jay Triano to become the second-lead assistant under Jason Kidd.
This news comes right as it has been revealed that the Mavericks also denied the New York Knicks’ request to interview Kidd for their head coaching position.
The #Mavs have agreed to terms with former Kings assistant Jay Triano to become the second-lead assistant on Jason Kidd's coaching staff, a person familiar with the team's thinking confirms.
The Athletic first reported Triano's official hiring.

Therefore, the coaching situation in Dallas has been solved, and now they have more talent for next season.
Triano has worked as an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors, Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, Charlotte Hornets, and Sacramento Kings.
He also spent time as the head coach for the Raptors and briefly with the Suns, too.
One of the most notable things about Triano is that he has a strong emphasis on offense, which will help the Mavericks score more.
He has also been known to work well with young stars who are attempting to build their game.
This is very important because the Mavericks will most certainly have Cooper Flagg in the lineup next season, and they want to get the most out of him right away.
This hiring looks like a smart move, one that will improve the players already on the roster and the incoming No. 1 pick, who could change everything.
After a tough season with a lot of injuries and the departure of Luka Doncic, the Mavericks are ready to turn a page and start a new chapter, and Triano could be a huge part of that.
