Paul Scholes was lucky enough to play with some of the best strikers of all-time during his career.
The former midfielder shared the pitch with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney, Andy Cole, Eric Cantona and even Robin van Persie at the end of his career.
Van Persie was an unbelievable finisher, but according to Paul Scholes, there’s one striker whose finishing ability trumps the rest.
Indeed, speaking to TNT Sports, Scholes has been tasked with building his perfect footballer made up of a number of different attributes from his former teammates.

Scholes was asked to build a perfect footballer made up of a number of different attributes.
Inevitably, the likes of Roy Keane and David Beckham were mentioned for their heart and their right foot, but when it came to finishing Scholes picked Van Nistelrooy.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard Van Nistelrooy being given this level of praise.
According to Wayne Rooney, Van Nistelrooy is the best finisher of all-time, and Scholes clearly believes the Dutchman was special as well.
Scholes’ ultimate footballer would be a serious player, that much is obvious.

Interestingly, Scholes didn’t rack up all that many assists during this time – just 17 in 165 games. However, 16 of those assists were in fact for Van Nistelrooy.
United would give anything to have a finisher like Van Nistelrooy in their squad these days, especially as Rasmus Hojlund continues to struggle up front.
