Dolphins' standout edge rusher Bradley Chubb has had a long journey back to the field, but he's in good spirits and seems to be healthy ahead of the 2025 NFL season.
Chubb has participated in all the Dolphins' offseason activities after being away from the game for over a year. Chubb, who came to Miami via a trade with the Broncos in 2022, is looking forward to finally playing the game he loves again.
The Broncos drafted Chubb with the fifth-overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He went on to collect 12 sacks, 14 TFLs, 26 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles in his rookie season, finishing third in the Rookie of the Year voting.
However, in 2019, Chubb tore his ACL, which was the second time the same injury had occurred, ending his season.
After dealing with other smaller injuries throughout the next two years, the Broncos traded Chubb to the Dolphins in 2022 for a first-round draft pick.
In 2023, Chubb broke out for Miami and returned to the level of play he displayed in his rookie season. The Dolphins' edge rusher accumulated 11 sacks, 11 TFLs, 22 quarterback hits, and a league-leading six forced fumbles.
Unfortunately, Chubb's 2023 season came to an end due to injury once again. He tore his ACL for a third time, but this time his patella and meniscus were involved.
Chubb had to sit out the entire 2024 season recovering from his injury, but now he's back at practice and looks ready to return to the standout level he displayed before his injuries.
At Wednesday's mandatory minicamp, Chubb was seen wearing the orange jersey, which is given to the standout player from the previous day's practice.
Mike McDaniel also commented that Bradley Chubb has shown out in practice recently.
With Chubb, Jaelen Phillips, and Chop Robinson healthy and playing together, the Dolphins' front four could be very dangerous in 2025.
When speaking with the media, Chubb said he didn't want to put a number on it, but this season could be special for the trio.
If you take Chubb's 2023 season, Phillips' 2022 season, and Robinson's 2024 season - Chubb's and Phillips' last healthy year and Robinson's rookie year - the trio combined for 24 sacks.
