The NBA offseason is right around the corner and one team to keep an eye on this summer is the Detroit Pistons.
Detroit was the surprise team in the NBA this season as they completely turned their franchise around.
Of course, the Pistons finished with the worst record in the NBA the prior two seasons before they were able to win 44 games this season and make the playoffs as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.

This was an incredible turnaround by the franchise, thanks in large part to the breakout campaign by Cade Cunningham, and they now enter the offseason with some key decisions to make about how they want to continue to build their roster around their star guard.
While Detroit is preparing for the offseason, the NBA made a massive announcement regarding the franchise on Wednesday.
The NBA announced that the Pistons will travel to Mexico on November 1 where they will face off against the Dallas Mavericks in a regular season game.
This will be the NBA’s 34th game in Mexico since 1992, which is the most games in any country for the league outside of the United States and Canada and the game with all coincide with the traditional “Dia de Muertos” (Day of the Dead) celebrations.
The game will also mark the Pistons’ third time playing in Mexico while it will be the Mavericks’ eighth appearance.

Of course, this matchup will be headlined by Cunningham, Ausar Thompson and Jalen Duren of the Pistons along with Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson and Cooper Flagg (the expected first overall pick in the 2025 draft).
This is a great honor for the Pistons as they have turned themselves into contenders for years to come with their young core and the NBA is doing the right thing by showcasing them for this game.
