The Green Bay Packers officially moved on from one All-Pro cornerback, releasing Jaire Alexander this week, but could be well positioned to add another to replace him.
In Miami, Jalen Ramsey is holding out of Dolphins mandatory minicamp, seeking a new long-term contract amid an impasse in negotiations with the organization, which could be the perfect opportunity for GM Brian Gutekunst and the Packers to swoop in.
At this stage, Ramsey may have alienated the Dolphins to the point that even a Day 2 draft choice could get a deal done, which could be the kind of value-add Green Bay needs to consider, especially in a division that houses the likes of Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and others.
Could the Packers Trade for Jalen Ramsey?

Ramsey, 30, might not be the same player that he was at the height of his career, but last season still pulled down a pair of interceptions while posting 60 total tackles.
In a position group that could benefit from adding a veteran presence, Ramsey could be an infusion of potentially game-altering talent at a premium position.

If Gutekunst and the Packers are able to pry Ramsey away for a third-round draft choice, it’s a move that the Packers should absolutely consider.
Likewise, if Gutekunst is able to offload one of the Packers’ young receivers, such as Dontayvion Wicks or Romeo Doubs in a trade to ease a logjam at one position while boosting the talent at a premium position with an outsized importance in coordinator Jeff Hafley’s system, Green Bay should be all-in on pulling off a blockbuster.
