The New York Knicks' playoff run, while impressive, came to an unfortunate end at the hands of the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Knicks were regarded as the favorites going into the series after knocking off the defending champion Boston Celtics.
The season should be looked at as a success, considering the trip to the Eastern Conference Finals was their first in 25 years. Unfortunately, history repeated itself, as the Knicks lost to the Pacers in the same round in 2000.

New York Knicks forward announces decision on retirement
Despite their most successful season since 2000, the Knicks made a shocking decision last week when they announced they were firing head coach Tom Thibodeau. The announcement was met with different reactions. Some were caught off guard, while others believed it was a long time coming.
If the Knicks were willing to make major changes regarding the head coaching position, it's incredibly possible that changes to the roster are ahead. However, New York Knicks forward P.J. Tucker made a signficant announcement regarding his future.
"Never have I mentioned retirement or even given any indication that may be a thing. I'm 40 years young 100% healthy, able, and will continue playing the game I've dedicated my life to...HOOPIN!!!!!!," Tucker said via his Instagram story.
Tucker appeared in three games for the Knicks, starting one. In those three games, he averaged 19.3 minutes, 3.0 points, and 2.7 rebounds per game. The Knicks have a club option on Tucker and will have to decide before the June 29 deadline whether they want to bring him back.
Tucker has played for eight teams in his 14-year NBA career. While he likely won't be a contributor on a team he lands on if the Knicks choose not to pick up the option, he provides a veteran presence and playoff experience to the locker room.
