The Las Vegas Raiders have made several poor offseason decisions over the last few years. This has caused the team to tie its money up in the wrong players or give up draft capital for veterans that ended up not working out.
Perhaps no player is a better example of this than wide receiver Davante Adams, who cost the team a first and second-round pick during the 2022 NFL Draft. Not only that, but he signed a five-year, $140 million deal upon his arrival in Las Vegas.
Despite the hefty contract that the team gave him and a First-Team All-Pro campaign in 2022, Adams left the organization in disgrace last offseason. He asked for a trade and his wish was granted when the team sent him to the New York Jets.

Adams has made several disparaging comments about the Raiders since his departure. This began during his introductory press conference in New York, but after a failed stint, he was left looking for another team again this offseason.
Ultimately, he landed with the Los Angeles Rams. After the Rams' mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, however, Adams found another opportunity to throw shade at the Raiders.
"Everybody's in a good mood (in Los Angeles). It's not like a dark cloud over the building. And I've experienced that quite a bit over the last few years," Adams said. "So, it's a glaring difference when you come into a building like this."
These comments are clearly directed at the Raiders, as he spent the majority of the last few years in Las Vegas. They are also a bit unnecessary considering none of the coaches or front office members remain with the Silver and Black from his tenure.
Adams' production for the Raiders dropped off after his All-Pro campaign in 2022. He mustered just 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns in 2023, then had just 209 yards and one touchdown through three games before being traded in 2024.
Las Vegas will now rely on Jakobi Meyers as its wide receiver No. 1, who turned in a career-high in receiving yards last season despite a subpar quarterback situation. The Raiders also added three young wide receivers in the draft, so the franchise has completely moved on from Adams, despite his refusal to do the same.
