UEFA surely unlikely to block potential Man Utd transfer this time as'true leader'eyed for Old Trafford move

Manchester United are eyeing up a new goalkeeper as Ruben Amorim considers changes between the sticks this summer.

Much of the focus around Manchester United is on attacking additions after a goal-shy campaign in the Premier League.

Matheus Cunha is on board at Old Trafford and Ruben Amorim still wants to bring in more additions in attack.

United are eyeing signings in other areas, though, and reports last season suggested Amorim wanted to sign two goalkeepers.

Altay Bayindir is expected to leave United this summer, while Andre Onana’s disappointing season puts him in danger of being sold.

UEFA unlikely to stop Marcin Bulka to Manchester United

A new name has emerged with United interested in signing Marcin Bulka from Nice, according to reporter Ben Jacobs.

The Polish stopper is out of contract in 2026 and United could move to bring him to Old Trafford.

This would see a move between Ineos clubs, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in charge of both Nice and United.

Fans will remember that United wanted to sign Jean-Clair Todibo last summer, having seen the defender shine for Nice.

UEFA blocked United’s move for Todibo because both Nice and United were in the Europa League last season.

UEFA have been trying to clamp down on moves between clubs under the same ownership, especially if they are playing in the same European competition.

Ratcliffe was left furious with UEFA’s ruling on Todibo, believing that it was unfair to deny the centre-back a potential move to Manchester.

Todibo ended up joining West Ham United instead, but United are unlikely to face the same issues this time around.

Nice finished fourth in Ligue 1, meaning they will take part in the Champions League qualifiers this summer.

United have missed out on European football entirely, so there is no conflict of interest with any move for Bulka.

Much will depend on what Bulka wants from his next move, but Ineos may hope to move him across to Manchester and leave other clubs frustrated in the process.

Manchester United target Marcin Bulka profiled

Bulka spent time with several different clubs in Poland as a youngster, before joining Chelsea at the age of 16.

The 6ft 6in stopper impressed on trial with Chelsea but was unable to make a first-team debut with the Blues.

Bulka’s Chelsea deal ended in 2019, paving the way for him to sign for French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Loans to Cartagena and Chateauroux failed to push Bulka any closer to first-team action at PSG before Nice pounced in 2021.

11 appearances in his first two seasons represented a slow start for Bulka at Nice, but he has been their first-choice stopper for the last two campaigns.

Praised as a ‘true leader’ by Nice boss Franck Haise, as quoted by Footboom, Bulka is emerging as one of Europe’s rising goalkeepers.

Still only 25, Bulka may be viewed as the ideal signing as a second-choice goalkeeper who has the talent and potential to really push Onana – or whoever United’s first-choice goalkeeper is next season.

Bulka’s contract situation and the Ineos connection mean United could secure a bargain with the Poland international.
