According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks have expressed interest in trading for Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant.
The Suns and Durant's business partner, Boardroom CEO Rich Kleiman, have met several times over the past week and are sifting through trade scenarios.
Durant, 36, has one year left on his contract. The small forward will make $54.7 million next season.
A future Hall of Famer, Durant turns 37 in September. He averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Suns this season in 62 games while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 83.9% from the free-throw line.

With Durant trade rumors heating up, one NBA insider is proposing that the Timberwolves trade for the two-time Finals MVP.
Dave McMenamin of ESPN proposed that the Timberwolves trade Rudy Gobert, Donte DiVincenzo and Rob Dillingham to the Suns for Durant, who was teammates with Anthony Edwards last summer on Team USA.
Edwards, who signed a five-year, $244 million extension with Minnesota in 2023, has said many times that Durant is his favorite player of all time.
"A scoring core of Edwards, Durant and Julius Randle would present problems, even for a defense as locked in as Oklahoma City, and Naz Reid has already closed at center over Gobert plenty of times as is," McMenamin wrote.
The Timberwolves have made the conference finals two years in a row. They lost to the Dallas Mavericks in 2024 and fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder this year.
Durant has career averages of 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists. He's one of the greatest scorers in NBA history, ranking sixth all-time in points per game.
It will be fascinating to see if the Timberwolves find a way to acquire Durant.
