Over the last year, Manchester United’s recruitment strategy has been noticeably changing since INEOS took charge, giving Sir Jim Ratcliffe control of club operations.

The Red Devils previously were going for marquee signings like Casemiro, Antony and Jadon Sancho, with little to show for the extortionate fees paid for them.

However, the club have now pivoted to not only hold firm on transfer fee valuations and not overpay on targets, but to also look to younger players with significant potential to grow into.

Over the last two transfer windows we’ve seen a real focus also put on the youth academy, signing future stars like Chido Obi, Sekou Kone and Enzo Kana-Biyik.

Now, United may have had their hope restored in their pursuit of PSG teenager Oumar Camara.

The 18-year-old has been excelling for the French champions’ youth side, with 12 goals and five assists in 28 games from the left wing.

CentreDevils revealed United’s interest in the young winger two months ago as The Red Devils were scouring Europe to find the best talent of the future.

However, for some time it looked as though Rangers were going to beat United to signing PSG’s Under-19s side’s captain.

Now, L’Equipe has revealed that this might not be the case any longer.

Russell Martin has recently been appointed as the Scottish club’s new manager, replacing Barry Ferguson who left the role last month.

However, with the change in management comes a change in direction for Rangers who are no longer interested in Oumar Camara.

As such, this leaves the door open for United to pursue the 18-year-old once more.

The Red Devils first made contact in April for the talented youngster, however talks broke down with Camara rejecting a contract offer from the Premier League side.

All might not be lost however, with the attacker not expecting to remain in Paris next season, leaving the door open for a potential second attempt at negotiations.
