Patrick Mahomes Trails Eagles Star as NFL's Best-Selling Player

The NFL Players Association released its Year-End Top 50 Player Sales List on Wednesday, ranking the league’s most retail-savvy stars based on sales of officially licensed merchandise from March 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025.

In a notable shakeup, running back Saquon Barkley claimed the top spot, becoming the first running back since Ezekiel Elliot in 2017 to lead the list.

The list aggregates data from more than 85 NFLPA licensees, spanning Fanatics, Funko, FOCO and others, and covers everything from jerseys and bobbleheads to backpacks and drinkware.

Behind Barkley sits Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the No. 2 position, followed by Philadelphia Eagles signal-caller Jalen Hurts at No. 3, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels at No. 4 and Houston Texans' C.J. Stroud rounding out the top five.

Barkley topped the ranking thanks in large part to his league-leading 2,005 rushing yards in 2024 and the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory, driving consumer demand across jerseys, apparel, figurines, and more.

Despite a third straight Super Bowl appearance, Mahomes ceded retail supremacy to Barkley, even though he remains the top quarterback in sales.

On the plus side, at just 29 years old, Mahomes has already cemented himself among the all-time greats on the field.

Since becoming the Chiefs’ starter in 2018, he has earned three Super Bowl titles, three Super Bowl MVPs, two NFL MVPs, six Pro Bowl nods and three All-Pro selections.

Finishing second on the NFLPA’s retail chart underscores Mahomes’ enduring market appeal, even if he may not sit atop the throne.
