Man Utd’s enquiry for star winger answered, transfer price revealed– he’s exactly what Ruben Amorim demanded from Jason Wilcox

Rúben Amorim has been vocal in the last few months about feeling that his current Manchester United squad is not capable of matching the Premier League’s physicality.

Manchester United are embarking on a quest to add significant improvement to Rúben Amorim’s front line this summer after the club failed to score enough goals last term.

United’s top scorer was Bruno Fernandes on 19 goals, while Alejandro Garnacho, Amad, and Rasmus Højlund were the only other three players to break into double figures across all competitions.

Having announced that an agreement to sign Matheus Cunha for £62.5 million had been made, United have also convinced Bryan Mbeumo to join Amorim’s project. However, this is subject to agreeing on a transfer fee with Brentford.

United are also thought to want to add further firepower to their front line, although the rest of their arrivals will depend on sales.

Amorim has demanded Wilcox sign athletic and speedy players

A significant portion of United’s failure to score enough goals last season was due to the club’s lack of athletic or fast players, which hindered their ability to compete with the physical presence of the current Premier League sides.

While United possess some fantastic talents, such as Amad, Fernandes, and Leny Yoro, the squad as a whole cannot compete physically with sides like Arsenal, Newcastle, and Bournemouth.

Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs has recently revealed that, in a meeting between Amorim and United’s director of football Jason Wilcox, the head coach specifically demanded that United sign more athletic and fast players in wide areas.

“My understanding is that Ruben Amorim has made it clear to Jason Wilcox and Christopher Vivell, ‘We’re lacking that athleticism and we’re lacking that speed in wide areas’,” Jacobs revealed.

“And this is why I think if Manchester United strengthen, you will find fast and physical players are added.”

United learn asking price for Ndoye

Amid Amorim’s desire for increased athleticism and pace in wide areas, United have recently been linked with an attempt to sign Dan Ndoye from Bologna this summer, with United forward Joshua Zirkzee having contacted the Swiss international about the move.

Ndoye recently dazzled fans with a fantastic display for Switzerland against the USA, scoring the opening goal of a 4-0 win, showing he has the exact traits that Amorim has demanded from Wilcox.

With United keeping tabs on the 24-year-old, the Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport have outlined that his current club, Bologna, have settled on an asking price of £38 million this summer amid interest from United.

However, it is also detailed that Napoli are very keen on the player, and are in contact with Bologna to try and reduce his asking price, although Antonio Conte’s side are said to be more interested in Bologna centre-back Sam Beukema instead.
