Bournemouth's Justin Kluivert has dropped a massive hint that his teammate Milos Kerkez is on the brink of signing for Liverpool.

The Reds have been sniffing around the left-back for ages and have finally made a move, chatting with the Cherries about sending an official bid. Kerkez is allegedly desperate for a transfer to Anfield, keen to link up with his friend and Hungary national captain Dominik Szoboszlai.

Liverpool's sporting director Richard Hughes is still negotiating with Bournemouth's Simon Francis over a hefty £45m deal, and the word on the street is that Kerkez will be Merseyside-bound sometime this summer.

After the Dutch squad trounced Malta 8-0 on Tuesday, Kluivert told Voetbal Primeur that a leap to the Premier League winners would be an excellent move for the 21 year old.

Kluivert: "He'll probably go there (to Liverpool)," Kluivert dished out. I hope so for him.

"He hasn't really said goodbye yet, but I hope he'll make it happen there."

If Kerkez rocks up at Liverpool, it could throw Kostas Tsimikas' future into question, as he has been understudy to Andy Robertson since his move from Olympiakos in 2020, reports the Liverpool Echo.

With Leeds United reportedly eyeing up Greek star Tsimikas and Scotland's captain Robertson in the last stretch of his contract, things could get interesting at Anfield.

Speaking about those Liverpool transfer whispers, Kerkez hit the headlines last month stating: "Of course, something always leaks into the news. I don't know how. At the same time, I think it's normal that if you play well and the team does well, then you get into the news and end up on the front page, and everyone talks about you.

"I see this as fuel that drives me forward. All this doesn't break me, but it doesn't 'boost' my ego either, but it teaches me humility and motivates me."

Liverpool have been busy bees in the transfer market already, having snatched three players this summer. They have wrapped up Giorgi Mamardashvili's signing ahead of time, Armin Pecsi is now in to shore up Arne Slot's options between the sticks, allowing Caoimhin Kelleher to head off to Brentford for his shot at being their main man.

Meanwhile, Jeremie Frimpong has stepped in to fill Trent Alexander-Arnold's boots after his switch to Real Madrid.
