All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Arsenal as they look to land their first summer signing.

Arsenal will be battling to improve their squad over the coming weeks and months. The early transfer window has now closed, but business will rumble on even if it is not made official until the start of the usual summer window.

The Gunners are expected to add a large number of players to their squad this summer as they look to add depth and quality between now and the start of next season. With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Sesko update

Arsenal are still leading the race to sign RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko despite talk of interest from Saudi Arabia. Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenburg told GiveMeSport: “Don't panic, the deal is still on between RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Arsenal. Two clubs from Saudi Arabia have enquired about Sesko in the last few hours, but they have been told that Sesko's preference is to continue with Arsenal as he is too young to go to Saudi Arabia.

“Arsenal are still working on a verbal agreement, but as long as there is no verbal agreement, other teams do still have a chance. But at this stage, the talks are still ongoing between the Gunners and Sesko for a summer transfer.”

Sesko verdict

Slovenia manager Matjaz Kek has had his say on talk of Benjamin Sesko changing clubs this summer. Asked about the Saudi Arabia links, he said: “Benjamin Sesko and Saudi Arabia? I would advise him to never go there, at least not at his age.”

Kek added on the European links: “This is a great recognition, these are clubs that mean a lot. It’s not that I underestimate the Saudi Pro League. On the contrary, I worked there at Al-Ittihad and the club is still a part of me. I also watch the league regularly… but the time will come for Benjamin Sesko for that. I am convinced that Benjamin himself and the people who care for him will be smart enough to make the right solution.”

Partey speaks about contract talks

Thomas Partey is still in negotiations with Arsenal over a new contract and with no agreement found yet, the midfielder has spoken about the situation for the first time. He told 3Sports: "I think the first thing is where are you happy and where do you feel at home. At the end of the day you've been in football, you've been in different teams. Then it's about what is your next objective what do you want to achieve next. You still have to look at all this and at the end of the day we all have a family that needs money, this is our mind.

"We are not getting younger. There are a lot of things where you have to look now with a family, where you want them to be happy. When you are young you just play anywhere. I'm an Arsenal fan, I can't decide anything and just have to leave it to my agent and the club. Me, I just want to enjoy football."
