Leeds United face big competition for Djordje Petrovic with TEAMtalk naming seven other clubs in the chase for the Chelsea goalkeeper.
Leeds United will have some lofty targets on their transfer radar as they prepare for Premier League football. LUFC know they have to strengthen if they’re to succeed on the rise from the Championship.
The first small period of the summer window has ended ahead of the Club World Cup and the Whites are yet to make a breakthrough.

However, early work is going into some deals. And, one addition towards the top of the list is that of a new goalkeeper.
Several have been linked with Leeds United. Chelsea man Djordje Petrovic is among them, but TEAMtalk has now detailed the extent of competition the Championship winners could face for his signature.
They name all of Aston Villa, Brentford, Wolves, Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, Fiorentina and recent loan club RC Strasbourg among the clubs keen.
LUFC target Petrovic is set to be sold by Chelsea this summer as they clear space in their goalkeeping ranks. He could command a fee in the region of £25m after his impressive Strasbourg stay, but time will tell where proves to be the ‘keeper’s preferred destination.
Pay up or miss out
Chelsea seemed destined to get exactly what they want for Petrovic this summer: a bidding war.

With Leeds United one of eight clubs said to be keen on the Serbian international, it seems likely that offers will come in from numerous clubs and should it come to that, the victor will likely be whoever is willing to pay the most money.

If LUFC are determined to sign the 25-year-old as their new number one, he will not come cheap. The Elland Road hierarchy will have to pay up, or they will miss out on a deal to one of the seven other sides said to be interested.
Could Leeds United target a cheaper deal?
Petrovic has proven himself as a fine goalkeeper over his career to date. He was steady in goal for Chelsea when called upon and has been able to show new levels out on loan in France.

At his age, he could be a long-term number one for Leeds United and a big asset, both in terms of on the pitch and the resale value he could boast.
However, LUFC may well be able to find a suitable, top-flight proven goalkeeper on a cheaper deal. They will have to careful they want to make big investments though, and if goalkeeper is one, perhaps Petrovic would be the ideal signing.
