Report: Surprise Premier League club eye Morgan Gibbs-White after Manchester City and Chelsea

Nottingham Forest are going to be trying desperately to keep hold of Morgan Gibbs-White this summer.

The player was in fine form last season as Forest qualified for the UEFA Conference League for the very first time in their history.

Gibbs-White starred for England on Tuesday and now, clubs are beginning to circle around the City Ground to sign the Forest number 10.

Manchester City are keen on Gibbs-White. However, their interest has cooled a little bit with City of the belief that he’s quite expensive for them.

Chelsea have also eyed Gibbs-White, although the attacker might not be a priority addition for the Blues during this particular transfer window.

Tottenham could move for Morgan Gibbs-White

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are one team to watch in the race for Gibbs-White this summer.

Thomas Frank is set to replace Ange Postecoglou in charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and he will set about reviving their fortunes after finishing 17th last season.

Spurs did win the Europa League, however, which means a place in next season’s Champions League.

That could entice Gibbs-White, although his valuation would likely smash Tottenham’s budget to smithereens this summer, and this is by no means a surefire thing.

Forest would dearly love to keep Gibbs-White, but the pull of London and Champions League football could make the player think twice.

Forest need to keep Gibbs-White

Although Ryan Yates is the club captain, Gibbs-White has worn the armband more often than not.

He’s a leader, not just in a demanding sense but also in the way he conducts himself on the pitch, giving maximum effort in every single game.

With Europe on the cards for Forest, Gibbs-White would dearly love an opportunity to play in such a competition, and it would be great if the player did stick around for another season.

Gibbs-White is Forest’s most talented performer in the final third and losing him would bolster the finances but be seriously detrimental on the pitch.
