Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford has confirmed he is back to full fitness ahead of his likely exit from Old Trafford this summer.

Rashford was pushed to the side by Ruben Amorim in December last year following what the Portuguese head coach perceived to be below-par training performances. While the same happened to Alejandro Garnacho prior to the Manchester derby, Rashford would not play another minute for United before his loan exit to Aston Villa.

In the West Midlands, Rashford began to show signs of the player many know he can be, but his redemption arc was cut short when he picked up a season-ending injury. MEN Sport understands that while Villa agreed a £40m option to buy with United earlier this year, they do not hold first refusal on Rashford.

This has opened up the possibility to look at other options this summer. Chiefly, a move to Barcelona is thought to be high on Rashford's wishlist, and the Catalan club have already stated publicly that he is a player they are interested in.

At this stage, there has been no formal approach from the La Liga giants for Rashford, but the Manchester Evening News understands there is little chance of the winger being welcomed back into the United fold this summer. As the summer break gets underway for many players not at the Club World Cup, Rashford has been working hard in hot weather camps to restore his fitness for the new season and, potentially, a new move.

He has been sharing his progress on social media and, on Wednesday evening, appeared to give his biggest transfer signal yet to Barcelona and other suitors that he is ready to return. Sharing a video of himself doing a 'high knees' exercise, Rashford captioned the clip: "Feeling good again," accompanied with a broad smile emoji.

Proving his fitness will be key for Rashford if he is to make a move this summer. Barcelona, or any other club for that matter, will not sanction a medical until the winger is at full fitness again.

So, now that he is back to full health, Rashford will be hoping he is a step closer to figuring out his future away from his boyhood club.
