One of Jadon Sancho's next dream transfer options after leaving Manchester United appears to be in jeopardy after Borussia Dortmund confirmed that he is not seen as a priority.

Sancho's fallout with Erik ten Hag in September 2023 sparked the beginning of the end for the winger at United. This season, he spent the entirety of the campaign at Chelsea despite claims he had buried the hatchet with the Dutchman.

The winger would burn all remaining bridges at United earlier this year when he claimed Marcus Rashford was 'free' of the club's shackles having joined Aston Villa on loan. Unfortunately for Sancho, that is not the case for him at present.

Despite Chelsea agreeing an obligation to buy Sancho for £25m this summer, the club and player were unable to reach an agreement on personal terms.

Therefore, the Blues were forced to pay a £5m penalty fee to United, and Sancho has since returned to Old Trafford.

It is understood there is little in the way of hope that Sancho will play for the Reds again, and now it is in both his and his parent club's interest to find a new home for the winger.

Earlier this week, reports in the national media claimed that Dortmund were interested in bringing Sancho back for a third spell at the club.

Of course, this would be seen as a dream scenario for Sancho, having enjoyed his previous two campaigns in Germany. However, before the Bundesliga club fly out to the Club World Cup in the United States, their sporting director Sebastian Kehl played down suggestions that they want to make an imminent bid for the United man.

"Of course, contact with Jadon is always there, in some way, because we have a very long history," Kehl explained via Get Football News Germany. "But it’s not an issue for us right now.

"We have other priorities at the moment and that’s why the Sancho issue was probably played up more in the media than discussed internally."

Bayer Leverkusen were considered to be interested in Sancho during the season but now Ten Hag has taken over at the Bundesliga club, that link appears to be non-existent again.
