The reaction Kieran Tierney has received for leaving Arsenal and re-joining Celtic shouldn’t be a surprise.
The Celtic Park faithful would always welcome Tierney back with open arms, because he returns home and to his boyhood club.
But the reaction from anyone associated with Arsenal also further proves just how much of a popular player he was during his time at the Emirates.
Remember, this was a time when Tierney was out on loan last season, and also returned from injury in December to play a role from the bench under Mikel Arteta.
The 28-year-old has spoken to Celtic about his comeback, but he also took to social media to share his reaction, and there were some responses from his soon-to-be former teammates.

Kieran Tierney’s heartwarming message as he leaves Arsenal to re-join Celtic
Tierney was well-supported at Arsenal, despite injuries, at times, proving to be a problem for the player and halting his progression.
That’s why Tierney posted a lengthy message to the Gunners on Instagram, and there were also some reactions in the comments section.
William Saliba wrote: ‘Good luck, my guy. ❤️🙏🏽’
Martin Odegaard: ‘❤️’
Scotland international Oli McBurnie: ‘Biscuit hips 👏’
Rapper Wretch 32: ‘Good luck, bro ❤️’
Tierney wrote: ‘Full of emotions these last few weeks! To be part of this special club for 6 years has meant so much to me, and I’m grateful for every single second of it.
MORE CELTIC STORIES
‘To every member of staff and team mate I’ve had the pleasure of working with, thank you for everything you done for me. I’m so lucky to have worked with many amazing people who I learned so much from and helped me every day.
‘To the fans, what a journey these last 6 years have been. All I can really say is thank you for the support and love you’ve given me through the good and the bad times. I appreciated everything and never took any of it for granted. It’s been fun. North London forever ❤️’
Tierney begins another Celtic journey…
Tierney’s first Celtic spell resulted in the left-back lifting 11 trophies during his 170 appearances for his boyhood club.
Celtic still have the Scotsman at the peak of his powers; it’s just a case of remaining injury-free, and hopefully, everyone will get to see the real player emerge.
Tierney has worn the new Celtic shirt, officially spoken to the club, and now changed the profile picture on social media of him doing just that.
So, journey number two in Glasgow begins now…
