Manchester United's 2024-25 campaign was one to forget for everyone concerned with the club and ahead of the 2025-26 season the Red Devils have already made a gaffe.

Thursday morning saw the Red Devils launch their new adidas home kit for next term, in what is usually a moment of excitement for fans.

However, supporters were able to see the team's new attire already through two mistakes.

The first came on Wednesday when midfielder Manuel Ugarte posted the kit a day earlier than it's official release via his social media channels.

The Uruguayan, who has been away with his country on international duty, took to Instagram and posted a picture of himself wearing the kit inside the dressing room. The post was later deleted.

It wasn't just the midfielder who went too early though, as the club's official website also advertised the new strip on their store page for fans to be able to buy.

Manchester United's club website also advertised the kit prior to it officially being on sale

Displaying it on their website at £105, they displayed the option for fans to buy the kit with captain Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo's names and shirt numbers on the back.

United eventually officially launched their kit at 8.45am in grand style. During their run to their Europa League final, fans produced giant tifos to inspire the players. And the club paid homage to that by making the new home shirt into a giant tifo at Old Trafford in their video posted on social media.

In the official photos taken the likes of Ugarte, Fernandes, Diallo and Mason Mount can be seen posing in the strip as well as women's captain Maya Le Tissier and forward Leah Galton.

The design of the latest home kit takes inspiration from Old Trafford with an abstract sleeve graphic in different shades of red showcasing elements of the pitch, stands and tunnel.

Completing the look is a stylish black and white V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs, the three-stripes running down the shoulders in black, and the adidas logo and sponsor logos in a contrasting white colour.

A final nod to the club’s rich heritage is a ‘Theatre of Dreams’ sign-off on the back of the collar.

The new shirts will not come cheap though for fans. The adults 'Home Authentic Jersey' that will be worn by the players will cost £120 in its short-sleeve version, or £130 in long sleeve. If you wish to purchase it with a player's name on it as well as the sleeve badges then the price increases to £148 in short sleeve.

The adults replica jersey is cheaper but that still will cost £85 in its short sleeve style versus £90 in long sleeve. Customisation of both see the prices rise to £113 (short sleeve) and £118 (long sleeve).

Fans will hope this kit can restore the good times back at Old Trafford after United finished a disastrous 15th in the table and lost the Europa League final to Premier League rivals Tottenham last month.

United head coach Ruben Amorim has already been active this summer in signing forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a bid to bolster their attacking options.
