Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Nico Williams, as speculation continues over the Spanish star’s future.

Arsenal are long-term admirers of the 22-year-old and have again been linked with a move for the winger this summer.

Williams has a release clause of around £50m in his Athletic Bilbao contract, with the Gunners and Chelsea believed to be among the clubs considering a move.

However, Sky Germany report that Bayern are also keen on Williams and have made contact with the player’s representatives.

It’s claimed that Williams has given the Bundesliga champions encouragement that he would be willing to join them and that has led to a meeting between the two parties.

No agreement has yet been reached, with Williams said to be holding out for wages of around £325,000-a-week.

Bayern are also believed to be keeping tabs on Bradley Barcola, though PSG are willing to sell.

There is a gap in the Bayern squad to fill after the departure of Leroy Sane, who was also viewed as a potential option for Arsenal.

The former Manchester City star arrived in Istanbul on Thursday ahead of completing a free transfer to Galatasaray.

Arsenal want to sign a winger this summer, though the priority remains a striker and talks have taken place with RB Leipzig over a move for Benjamin Sesko.

Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has also been linked with the Gunners, but he is with the Spanish side at the Club World Cup.
