‘Difficult co-existence’ – Dani Carvajal won’t bow to Trent Alexander-Arnold, dressing room power over Liverpool leaver

Trent Alexander-Arnold has already left Liverpool to join Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.

The right-back graduated from the Reds’ youth system and made his way into their first team in October 2016, under former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.

Since then, the 26-year-old has been the starter for Liverpool and has been a key part of a squad that’s won several trophies, including two titles and the Champions League.

It’s not a given that Alexander-Arnold will be a starter straight away at Real Madrid. That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who report about a potential battle between him and Dani Carvajal.

The 33-year-old Spaniard has recovered from the serious injury he suffered earlier last year. He’ll be fighting with the former Liverpool star for a place in Real Madrid’s starting lineup.

Mundo’s title says there’ll be a ‘difficult co-existence’ between Carvajal and the England international. The former is a product of Real Madrid’s youth system and returned to club in 2013, a year after leaving them for Bayer Leverkusen.

Carvajal has been a regular for Real Madrid is one of the seniors at the club. He has a lot of power within the dressing room and that may be why he could start ahead of Alexander-Arnold.

Real Madrid will present the former Liverpool man to the media later today.
