Arsenal have reportedly been in touch with Ajax to discuss a potential move for defender Jorrel Hato.

The 19-year-old enjoyed an impressive 2024-25 campaign for Ajax, featuring on 50 occasions in all competitions, scoring three goals and registering six assists in the process.

There has recently been a host of speculation surrounding Hato's future, with a number or clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool, believed to be keen to sign him during the summer transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are also firmly in the race, and the Gunners are said to have been in touch with Ajax to discuss a possible deal ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Ajax are in a strong position when it comes to the defender's future, though, with his contract due to run until the end of the 2027-28 campaign.

Hato made 31 league appearances for Ajax during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring twice and registering six assists in the process, while he also featured on 11 occasions in the Europa League.

The defender is now a six-time Netherlands international, meanwhile, with his last appearance for the national side coming against Spain in the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals in March.

Hato's ability to play as a left-back and a centre-back has allegedly made him an even more attractive proposition for Arsenal, who will be looking to land major silverware during the 2025-26 season.

Real Madrid have also been credited with an interest in his services, but it appears that he will move to the Premier League if Ajax sanction a sale during the summer transfer window.

What is the latest on Arsenal's Sesko pursuit?

Arsenal appear to have identified RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko as their number one option at centre-forward, meanwhile, with the Gunners seemingly making progress when it comes to a potential deal.

According to Arsenal expert Charles Watts, there is currently a "universal belief" that he can become a world-class striker at the club, and discussions are now "ramping up", he exclusively told Sports Mole.

Al-Hilal have also been credited with an interest in Sesko, but the expectation is that Arsenal will ultimately secure a deal for a striker who has 39 goals and eight assists in 87 matches for Leipzig.
