Arsenal could finally get green light to complete Jhon Duran transfer

Arsenal have been linked with both Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko so far this summer, with the likes of Victor Osimhen also briefly linked.

The Gunners need to sign a striker and it is no surprise that the two frontmen they were heavily tipped to sign last summer are the names on everyone's lips again this time around.

But could Arsenal look away from those two and do something the supporters at the Emirates Stadium were not massively impressed with the club doing last summer - plugging a gap with a loan signing.

Back then it was Raheem Sterling, who has returned to parent club Chelsea now, having made just seven Premier League starts for the Gunners this season.

Now, though, supporters may get a little more excited if it was to be Jhon Duran coming in on loan.

Arsenal were linked with a move for Duran in the January transfer window, with plenty of speculation around his future at Aston Villa. In fact, links with Duran were more rife than with Ollie Watkins, for whom Arsenal eventually saw a bid rejected by Aston Villa.

Duran went on to make a £65million more to the Saudi Pro League, joining Al Nassr. However, just six months into that move, during which time he has managed 12 goals in 18 appearances, Duran could be on the move again.

Reports have suggested the 21-year-old is not happy in the Middle East with Arriyadiyah saying that doubts were "swirling" around his future in Saudi.

Mikel Arteta and new sporting director Andrea Berta will want to get a new striker through the door as quickly as possible, having not made any signings yet while watching their rivals at the top of the Premier League do business already.

And while Duran might not be a permanent deal, his Premier League experience would certainly stand him in good stead over the likes of Sesko and Gyokeres.
