**Once again, a top player has become available for transfer, and that means that Newcastle United's name has been thrust into the frame.**
Newcastle are a magnificent tool for agents and journalists to use as a way to drum up interest for players, regardless of how much sense it makes.
The latest comes from [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/35354687/jadon-sancho-transfer-newcastle-tottenham-man-utd/), who believe that Newcastle, along with Tottenham and Aston Villa, could look to pounce on a cut-price deal for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho.
The England winger spent last season on loan at Chelsea, but the Blues opted not to retain his services for next season, and with Sancho keen to leave Old Trafford, there's potentially a deal to be struck.

Jadon Sancho is no stranger to silverware
We don't see the logic in Newcastle signing Jadon Sancho as things stand
------------------------------------------------------------------------
We've been fans of Sancho for a while, and though he has been tainted by having played for both Manchester United and Cheslea now, we'd still have him at Newcastle as there's a top-quality player in there who just needs to find his confidence again.
However, his primary position is left wing, and that's not exactly a position that Newcastle needs to strengthen, especially as it has been revealed that Eddie Howe is keen to keep hold of Harvey Barnes.
Sancho can, and has, played on the right wing, but you could say that about Gordon and Barnes; it doesn't mean they're any good at it.
We'd take Jadon Sancho at Newcastle
-----------------------------------
Jadon Sancho's Champions League experience is said to be what's driving Newcastle and Tottenham's interest, with the 25-year-old having played in a final with Borussia Dortmund, not to mention that he lifted the Europa Conference League trophy with Chelsea before his loan ended.
We actually hope there's some truth to this one, even if we can't see where he'd fit in right now. If Eddie Howe can convince Sancho to switch flanks then it could be a fantastic move.
For now, though, we remain highly sceptical. I mean ... it came from The Sun!
