The story between Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is not over yet.
Yes, because the reports in the last 48 hours have been mixed and crazy around the winger, who’s a top target for Chelsea this summer in that position.
Chelsea Tried Until First Deadline to Sign Gittens
No agreement reached with Borussia Dortmund

After an initial bid was rejected for a €35m fixed fee, Chelsea wanted to try again before the Tuesday deadline for the FIFA Club World Cup by offering €50m guaranteed fee without any add-ons. Borussia Dortmund said no, again.
Chelsea really tried until the very end, by discussing add-ons with Dortmund in a direct conference call taking place late on Tuesday afternoon.
But there was still no green light, as Borussia Dortmund wanted €65/70m valuation to be met in order to accept and let Gittens leave just a few hours before the World Cup. But again, no chance as Chelsea were not willing to pay that amount of money.
Internally, sources at Chelsea see that pricing as a type of “Club World Cup tax” for a player they want regardless of this competition. Chelsea feel they’re well covered upfront for the World Cup and they’re happy to keep negotiating in the next days and weeks for Bynoe-Gittens.

The player is literally waiting for Chelsea's call as he has also told Dortmund directors. Gittens wants Chelsea; he will remain professional in the next weeks, but his desire is to sign for the Blues and that won’t change anytime soon.
The agreement between Bynoe-Gittens, his agents and Chelsea is done until June 2032 on a seven-year contract; and he won’t change his word and plans as he wants Chelsea as his next destination.
Jamie Gittens' statistics for Borussia Dortmund this season
Former Man City Academy key figure Joe Shields is now at Chelsea and is also seen as a “guarantee” by Jamie Bynoe-Gittens - described as 'one of Europe's best dribblers' - for Chelsea's vision and project for his development.
Sources confirm that Chelsea are prepared to return in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund soon to re-discuss terms and try to reach an agreement - their plans include Bynoe-Gittens and a new proposal could be on the table already in the next days.
