David Moyes will want to build the best squad possible for the upcoming season at Everton.
The squad at hand is far from that, with the Scotsman having to make some major changes this summer.
Adding a player such as Jack Grealish for Everton could be the key to a change in fortunes next season.
But realism needs to be considered as well, with Grealish’s excessive wage on the table.
Thankfully for Moyes, he’s been told one player at Everton is already the best in his position, and that’s a positive sign.

Everton’s Jordan Pickford told he’s the ‘best’ in the Premier League
Moyes will want outfield players to deliver on the big stage for Everton next season, but he’ll have no problem defensively.
This is due to Jarrad Branthwaite staying at Everton, but more importantly, having Jordan Pickford as number one.
Despite his raging success at Everton during his tenure, Thomas Tuchel has criticised Pickford.

Former Everton player Asmir Begovic will share this view, as speaking to The Athletic, Begovic claimed Pickford has been the ‘best’ in the Premier League.
“We’ve developed a really big respect and friendship, pushed each other in training, and made each other better. You do get better with experience. I’ve seen a change (in) his maturity, the way he plays the game.
“He’s been the best goalkeeper in the Premier League for the last five years.”

How Everton’s Pickford compared to Alisson last season
There will be much debate surrounding whether the Everton keeper is the best in the top flight, and Liverpool’s Alisson will certainly have something to say about it.
It’s perceived that in the last five years, the Liverpool number one has been the greatest in the league, but Pickford is no doubt in the conversation, seemingly shocking everyone with his saves at times.
Pickford is abiding by Moyes’ high standards at Everton and was no doubt in the running for player of the year.
But Alisson’s numbers this season show that Pickford deserves the crown of the Premier League’s best shot-stopper.
