Liverpool have already had a very busy summer transfer window with players both coming and going.
The Anfield outfit were one of the best teams in the Premier League last season, and to be honest, none of their title rivals could match the form that Arne Slot’s men were producing each week.
Indeed, they may have bowed out of the Champions League in the Round of 16, but the fact that Paris Saint-Germain ended up winning the trophy says all you need to know.

However, with their rivals already adding depth to their ranks and improving their teams for the 2025-26 season, Liverpool must try and keep up.
This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to see the Reds consistently being linked with new names, even though their main focus at the moment is finalising Florian Wirtz’s move from Bayer Leverkusen.
Liverpool have been scouting Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola recently
As mentioned, PSG were one of the only teams that managed to topple Liverpool after their impressive Champions League campaign this term.
And it feels like if the Reds had matched up with any other team, it could have been them who were bringing the trophy home.
Instead, they bowed out of the competition, but they didn’t do so without taking notes on some of Luis Enrique’s players.

That’s because, as per a report from journalist Dean Jones, Liverpool have ‘definitely’ had scouts on the young Frenchman, with the journalist hearing ‘whispers’ about their interest.
Jones does, however, go on to say that he’d be ‘surprised’ if Liverpool were to make a move for Barcola due to their need for a ‘proper centre-forward.’

Liverpool must focus on other areas before pursuing a deal for Bradley Barcola
As Jones mentioned, Liverpool have a couple more areas within their team that are a much higher priority than another left-winger.
Indeed, both Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are consistently being linked with Anfield exits, but until one of those moves comes to fruition, Liverpool have more than enough depth on the wings to go into next season.
One area they do need to add some quality to, however, is their striker.
This season, Cody Gakpo and Diaz have been the two regular fixtures for Arne Slot’s number nine, but with their futures in the balance and their preferred positions being on the wing, a new striker is a must.

Hugo Ekitike and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak are the two names that have cropped up the most, with both, on paper, looking to be quality additions.
Of course, it’s still very early days in the summer transfer window, and plenty can change, but before a move for Barcola is made, a new striker and a new left-back are almost certainly what’s needed, even if players such as Olivier Giroud love the Frenchman for what he offers a team.
