Manchester United could look to complete a surprise move to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma over the summer months, according to reports - with contract extension talks failing in the French capital sparking interest from the Red Devils' recruitment team ahead of next season.
The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and are looking to close big deals for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo and Sporting hero Viktor Gyokeres. However, with Donnarumma potentially being allowed to leave on a free transfer next summer, that could see United make their move - in which they've already initiated talks with the Italian's agents over a potential transfer.

The report by ESPN states that, with Donnarumma's £295,000-per-week contract expiring next summer, United have enquired to his agent Enzo Raiola over a potential move for his services, having seen Andre Onana struggle between the sticks this season.
Donnarumma joined PSG in 2021 after a stellar spell at AC Milan, where he made his Serie A debut at the age of just 16 - racking up 251 appearances for the San Siro outfit as their first-choice before his move to the French capital.

Being PSG's first-choice stopper throughout most of his tenure, the towering goalkeeper is without doubt at the peak of his powers at present after winning the Champions League, even being touted for the Ballon d'Or - and that has prompted United's interest in a deal to improve their backline ahead of a lighter schedule next season.
Talks over a new deal have stalled, despite a willingness to get a signature sorted, and that has given Ruben Amorim the belief that he can secure a deal for Donnarumma's services. It has led to an enquiry with his agency over a potential deal, with United seeing Donnarumma as a 'great' market opportunity.
Onana has made various mistakes since he joined United at the start of last season, and Amorim knows they will need to be amended before his team can start to progress in terms of moving up the Premier League table, with the Red Devils only having mustered a 15th-placed finish in the division last season, which was their worst since the competition began all the way back in 1992.
