Everton’s summer transfer plans have been put on hold whilst the market shuts until the start of next week.
The new format has halted transfers across the world as Everton now have an opportunity to reassess their plans for the remainder of the summer.
David Moyes is expecting to be backed by the Friedkins after he held up his end of the bargain and kept the Toffees in the Premier League.
When the 62-year-old arrived in January, relegation was a real fear, but the Scot has been able to turn things around following Sean Dyche’s tenure.
But now is Everton’s opportunity to strike whilst the iron is hot and bolster their squad for the new campaign.
Everton are looking to make significant signings this summer to provide Moyes with a squad worthy of playing in their new stadium.
The Toffees are now facing some stern competition in pursuit of one of their defensive targets.

Everton set to battle Arsenal for Geny Catamo
Moyes is on the search for a new right-back this summer with the likes of Ashley Young departing the club.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Although it is now expected Seamus Coleman will remain at Everton, the Toffees are still in need of some fresh alternatives.
According to Caught Offside, Everton are one of the clubs who are showing an interest in the Sporting CP right-wing-back Geny Catamo.
This is a player who is receiving a lot of interest from teams in the Premier League and across Europe.
It is claimed sources close to the player’s agent are suggesting there is a lot of admiration from England with the following clubs credited with interest:
Arsenal
Newcastle United
Wolves
Fulham
Aston Villa
But the interest does not stop in the Premier League with OGC Nice, Atletico Madrid and Udinese just some of the European sides eyeing the youngster.
Elsewhere, it has also been suggested Everton are eyeing a move for Vladimir Coufal who would welcome a move to Merseyside.
Who is Geny Catamo?
The 24-year-old has operated on both flanks this season and has even shown an ability to play further up the field at right-wing.

Fortunately for Sporting, the Mozambique international is secured to Lisbon by a whopping €60m (£51m) release clause.
His performances have left the Portuguese side reluctant to sell and that would be a figure which would surely price Everton out.
The Friedkins have put aside a healthy transfer budget for Everton, but splurging that kind of money on an unproven talent seems extremely unrealistic.
