Celtics Could Make Major Moves This Offseason

The Boston Celtics’ season ended sooner than most fans expected.

After winning the 2024 NBA Finals and maintaining the core of their roster, the Celtics came into the season with motivation and the talent to repeat as champions.

Unfortunately, their journey ended during the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New York Knicks.

While most teams in the NBA would be ecstatic to reach that point of the postseason, the Celtics have viewed it differently.

According to ESPN insider Shams Charania, Boston looks like it wants to revamp its roster.

“Boston is reportedly focused on trades involving Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, and Sam Hauser, but teams are calling about Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. ‘Everybody but [Jayson] Tatum’ seems to be on the table,” Legion Hoops wrote on X.

Brown could have a marquee year with Tatum likely out for the season with an Achilles injury suffered against the Knicks, but it will be interesting to see if he’ll be around to have the opportunity.

The Celtics haven’t needed to rebuild as they’ve been among the most dominant teams in the league for the past two decades.

But if the front office believes that it can get valuable future assets for players other than Tatum, it might take advantage of the opportunity.

It will be interesting to monitor what the Celtics do this offseason and how they’ll construct the team for the 2025-26 campaign.
