Chelsea put nine players worth a total of £135m up for sale - including England international

During Enzo Maresca's first season at Chelsea, the Blues secured their return to the Champions League for the first time in a couple of years and they're prepared to make some major moves to compete in the competition. According to BBC Sport, the club have put nine of their players up for sale, with the former Leicester City boss planning a major overhaul within his squad.

The last few seasons have been unkind to Chelsea. Despite spending billions following Todd Boehly's takeover, they struggled to find any success on the football pitch. The Blues signed an absurd number of players under the American's watch, with a staggering 45 players coming through the doors at Stamford Bridge.

The 2024/25 campaign saw a turnaround for the side, though, and they returned to the top four of the Premier League and will compete in football's top club competition next time out as a result. There's work to be done, though, and while the Blues have already brought the likes of Liam Delap and Estevao into the fold this summer, they've also been linked with a handful of other exciting names who are capable of making a huge difference for the side. On the flip side, they're also reportedly keen on offloading some of their players.

Chelsea Put Nine Players Up For Sale Including Ben Chilwell

The market value of the combined players is almost £135m

Ben Chilwell

With plenty of work on the horizon for Maresca as he reshapes the Chelsea squad in his image, he's going to need to offload some of the stars who he doesn't see a future for at Stamford Bridge and according to BBC Sport, that has seen him put nine of his Chelsea players up for sale. The names involved won't be too surprising, with many having spent a portion of the 2024/25 out on loan away from the team.

Stars who were once considered key to the first team, like Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi and Raheem Sterling, have all been put up for sale, with a handful of other names joining them. As well as the trio, Joao Felix, Djordje Petrovic, Armando Broja, Renato Veiga, Carney Chukwuemeka and Lesley Ugochukwu have all also been put up for sale and the Blues are prepared to sell every one of them this summer.

If they manage to get the market value in return for each player they've put up for sale, Chelsea could receive around £135m this summer, which would go a long way into helping strengthen the first-team ahead of their return to the Champions League.
