Imagine him and Wirtz: Liverpool would be unstoppable if FSG land £100m ‘cheat code’ for Slot…

Liverpool's transfer window is in full swing, with a deal for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz set to get over the line shortly, which would see him join former teammate Jeremie Frimpong on Merseyside - but there's no reason why the Reds should stop there in their summer crusade.

Anfield boss Arne Slot spent barely any money last summer, only bringing in Federico Chiesa from Juventus on a cut-price deal - and despite the lack of signings, it saw the Dutchman sweep up the Premier League title with ease as Liverpool ended a five-year hiatus from the title.

Liverpool Should Sign £100m Star Alongside Wirtz

The Reds are on a proper rampage in this summer's transfer window

But their summer efforts this time around have shown that they aren't willing to let up in the race to reclaim the trophy, as seen with Wirtz, Frimpong and an expected move for Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez, who has been linked in a deal that could reach £40million. However, with recent reports linking them with Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, that is a deal that is undoubtedly worth doing in a move that would massively improve their forward ranks.

Luis Diaz is currently the first-choice for the left-wing slot, but the Colombian has been linked with moves to Barcelona and the Saudi Pro League, meaning there could be a vacancy on that wing. Anthony Gordon has been linked with a move from Newcastle United, and whilst Cody Gakpo is Diaz's strongest competition currently at the club, Slot is seemingly not ruling out an addition on that side of the attack.

But Barcola would be an unbelievable addition in that regard, and at £100million it's not out of question, with reports on Wednesday evening linking the Frenchman with a move to Anfield.

Bradley Barcola Alongside Wirtz Would be an Incredible Prospect

The French star is one of the world's best young players

Barcola is no longer a part of PSG's front three, with Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia taking those spots - and Barcola, who has already made 99 Ligue 1 outings for Lyon and PSG, has scored 24 league goals in that time - including 14 last season. At just 22 years of age, he's already racked up an immeasurable amount of experience across the Champions League, which he won last month. Being called a 'cheat code' in the process, he could help Liverpool do the same again.

Should Liverpool sell Diaz, Barcola could be a superb replacement. In an attacking midfield trio including himself and Wirtz alongside Mohamed Salah, with a potential new striker to boot, that would be an outrageously good attacking trio for Slot to utilise - especially if they can add a new talisman to the mix.

Wirtz and Barcola are both young, and if Liverpool can add a goalscoring striker who is still yet to come into his prime into the mix, it would set the club up for at least a decade - only needing a replacement for the ageing Salah in that time-frame, and even his future doesn't need to be imminently decided having just signed a new two-year contract at Anfield.

A Premier League title already looks in the pipeline, and if Barcola is added, Liverpool could dominate England for years to come.

Liverpool target PSG star Bradley Barcola after Florian Wirtz transfer

According to reports, Liverpool are set to continue their summer spending spree with a move for PSG forward Bradley Barcola. The newly-crowned Premier League champions intend to spend heavily on another attacker even after completing a British transfer record for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz. Despite helping PSG lift the Champions League, Barcola has been linked with a move away from Paris, with Bayern Munich also interested in the 22-year-old, who has a price tag in the region of £100m. Barcola found himself on the bench again for last month’s Champions League final against Inter, with Luis Enrique preferring a front three of Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Arne Slot's outfit will look to raise funds by offloading Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota as the Reds look to retain their Premier League crown next season.
