There is a very good chance that Brandin Podziemski will be an important part of the Golden State Warriors for years to come, which means he needs to stay healthy as much as he can.
Thankfully, he is resolving an issue that could have prevented him from playing well next season.
According to Anthony Slater, Podziemski underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair a core muscle injury.
This injury flared up in the middle of the season and bothered him into the playoffs.
He is now expected to be ready for training camp and the season ahead.
Brandin Podziemski underwent surgery yesterday to repair a core muscle injury, Warriors announce. It occurred midseason, forced him to miss games and clearly still bothered him into the summer. Podziemski also had wrist surgery recently. He's expected to be ready for camp.

It was a wild and up-and-down season for the Warriors, and Podziemski was involved in all of it.
During his 64 games, he averaged 11.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists on 44.5 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from the three-point line.
He has remained consistent since his rookie season, and head coach Steve Kerr obviously has faith in him.
Kerr called upon him for an average of 26.8 minutes per game and let him start in 33 matches.
There is a chance he will do even more next season.
The Warriors could be very busy during the summer.
They added Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline, which ended up being a smart move, but they may not be done yet.
Fans are expecting them to make some noise, although it’s not clear how much they will do.
Podziemski will likely be with the team next season, but there is always a chance he is a part of a trade package to land another big player.
No matter where he is next year, it sounds like he will be in much better shape after this surgery and recovery.
