Manchester United have announced the completion of Matheus Cunha’s move to Old Trafford.
On the first day of the summer window, Manchester United confirmed an agreement for Matheus Cunha after striking a £62.5m deal with Wolves.
On Thursday morning, the Red Devils confirmed the completion of the transfer, with Cunha pictured in United’s new home kit for the 2025/26 season.
New sporting director Jason Wilcox commented on Cunha’s move after it was confirmed that the 26-year-old Brazilian has signed a five-year contract at United.
There is also an option for United to extend Matheus Cunha’s stay by an extra year, keeping him until 2031.

Matheus Cunha set to play at new £2bn Man United stadium
Cunha’s long-term agreement with United means he will still be wearing red on the 2030 deadline for United’s new stadium.
Concept photos of a 100,000-seater stadium were released in March and Sir Jim Ratcliffe made it clear that the club are targeting an open date of 2030.
Ideally, United will be playing in the new venue in the 2030/31 season but Ineos are yet to source any funding for the £2bn project.

Should United meet their deadline, only Amad Diallo and Patrick Dorgu currently have long enough contracts to step out onto the new stadium.
Diallo extended his contract until 2030 last season after becoming a key player under Ruben Amorim. Patrick Dorgu signed until 2030 when he joined in January, and United have an option to extend his stay for a further year.
New Man United stadium will help to attract big signings
The idea of playing at the Theatre of Dreams is already a huge lure for United when it comes to attracting players in the transfer window.
The 74,310-capacity stadium is already the biggest in the Premier League and the biggest club stadium in England.
However, United’s record-breaking 100,000-seater stadium shows the club’s huge ambitions to return to the top of English football with what will be a state-of-the-art home.
Cunha wasted no time signing for United while Bryan Mbeumo only wants to join United this summer despite attracting interest from Champions League clubs.
Amorim said the good days are coming for United, and the new stadium is a light at the end of the tunnel for the Red Devils.
