Arsenal transfer target Rodrygo has offered a fresh indication that he may remain at Real Madrid following his first meeting with new manager Xabi Alonso.
The Brazilian international had a turbulent end to the 2024/25 season, with his relationship with outgoing manager Carlo Ancelotti reportedly strained. Rodrygo was left out of the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, fuelling speculation that he had already played his last game for Los Blancos. Although he later dismissed such rumours, uncertainty surrounding his future has persisted.
Arsenal are among the leading contenders to sign the 24-year-old, with Mikel Arteta eager to add a wide forward to his squad. The Gunners are reportedly prepared to make a significant offer if Madrid signal any willingness to sell. Chelsea and several Saudi Arabian clubs are also said to be monitoring the situation closely.

However, according to Spanish outletMarca, Rodrygo is currently content at Real Madrid after positive discussions with Alonso. The winger joined the club from Santos in 2019 and has become a key squad member, though he may not feature prominently in Alonso’s preferred starting XI next season.

While Arsenal continue to track Rodrygo, their transfer priorities remain broad. The Gunners are still in pursuit of a new centre-forward, with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko considered the top target. They are also keeping tabs on Viktor Gyokeres, who is reportedly unsettled at Sporting Lisbon.
In midfield, Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, with a deal expected to be finalised in July. In goal, Kepa Arrizabalaga is set to join from Chelsea to provide competition for David Raya.
Arsenal also remain hopeful of retaining Thomas Partey, although the Ghanaian midfielder is out of contract and has yet to accept the new deal currently on the table.
