Patriots Make Historic Tom Brady Announcement

The New England Patriots were fortunate to have the best quarterback in NFL history play for their franchise for so long. Tom Brady spent the bulk of his incredible career in New England, and he's a sure-fire Hall of Fame member the moment he's eligible.

To further honor the legendary quarterback, the Patriots announced on Twitter/X that they will unveil a statue in his honor on Friday, August 8th at Gillette Stadium before the Patriots and Commanders preseason game.

At the beginning of the Patriots video they shared to hype-up the statue's unveiling, they included a clip of Patriots owner Robert Kraft talking about their plans to make the statue.

"Last year we commissioned a local sculptor," Kraft said. "To create a larger than life, bronze statue to perpetuate the legendary legacy of the great Tom Brady."

For the Patriots, there is no more impactful player, or individual, in franchise history than Brady. His incredible career with the Patriots helped bring home six Super Bowl trophies to New England, as he cemented himself the leader of one of the greatest dynasties in sports history.

Across Brady's illustrious 23 year career, he spent 20 of them with the Patriots. He's started an NFL record 333 games, 283 with the Patriots. The bulk of his career came in New England, where he set NFL records one after another.

Brady holds the NFL record for more passing attempts with 12,050, the most completions with 7,753, the most passing yards with 89,214, and the most passing touchdowns with 649.

He was a 15-time Pro Bowler, was a first-team All-Pro three times in his career, and was a three time MVP. Brady, in his six Super Bowl wins wit hthe Patriots, was a Super Bowl MVP four times. He holds countless playoff records for a quarterback, and is one of the greatest players of all time.

The Patriots decision to honor him with a statue at Gillette Stadium isn't a surprise. With the date set for August 8th, all Patriots fans will get a chance to see the bronze statue honoring Brady for his incredible Patriots career that spanned two decades.
