**INDIANAPOLIS –** Summer vacation is here for the 2025 Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts concluded their 2-month offseason program on Thursday morning, with an abbreviated final session.

Here are the observations from the team’s third minicamp practice:

\-To summarize the Daniel Jones spring from a handful of viewings, I would call it solid. Nothing too, too fishy, but a pretty consistent, in-rhythm, on-target thrower learning a new offense. On Thursday, the Colts had a shorter practice and just one 11-on-11 period among the starters, with Jones going 3-of-4, completing passes to Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce and Tyler Warren. What did Shane Steichen think of Daniel Jones this spring? “Very pleased,” Steichen began in describing the spring work of Jones. “He’s been doing a hell of a job. Really smart football player. Learned the offense very quickly. Making really good decisions through OTAs, obviously want to carry that over through training camp. Great command of the huddle. Ultimate pro.”

\-While the details still need to be finalized, Jones is planning to get together with his pass catchers this summer. This is pretty standard protocol for all NFL starting quarterbacks during summer vacation. And, right now, Jones is the Colts starting quarterback with Anthony Richardson needing to rest this summer.

\-Shane Steichen offered a “we’ll see” when asked if Desmond Ridder will have a spot on the 90-man roster following minicamp. Ridder, a 2022 third-round pick with 18 career NFL starts, participated in the team’s minicamp as a tryout player. Steichen said bringing Ridder in gave the Colts an “extra arm” for minicamp, although the veteran hardly got any serious reps in 7-on-7 or 11-on-11 sessions. The Colts still have 4 quarterbacks on their 90-man roster: Daniel Jones, Anthony Richardson, Riley Leonard, Jason Bean.

\-As always, the Colts ended their offseason program with a fun activity. On Thursday morning, Shane Steichen pitted offensive line coach Tony Sparano Jr. vs. defensive line coach Charlie Partridge to see who could field punts better. This was a rout, with Sparano Jr. easily fielding his two punts and Partridge was unable to come down with either of his two attempts.

\-The Colts will now be off from in-building activities for the next 5 and a half weeks. Training camp report day is July 22nd. The Colts will hold practices at Grand Park in the final two weeks of July/early August, before heading to Baltimore for a couple of days. The Colts play the Ravens in the preseason opener on August 7th, with a joint practice expected on August 5th. The Colts will then return to Grand Park that weekend. Another joint session with the Packers will be around August 14th, ahead of their second preseason game (August 16th vs. the Packers). A full training camp schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.

\-Players that didn’t appear to be participating in Thursday’s third minicamp practice: LB-Zaire Franklin (boot on his left leg after ankle surgery earlier this month), LB-Jaylon Carlies (recovering from off-season shoulder surgery), CB-Jaylon Jones (soft tissue), OT-Braden Smith (got dinged earlier in the week), S-Daniel Scott, WR-Blayne Taylor, CB-David Long Jr., DE-Samson Ebukam, TE-Maxmilian Mang, DE-Kwity Paye, OT-Blake Freeland.
