The Sacramento Kings enter the offseason needing to address many key areas of their roster as they try to rebound from their disappointing season.
Sacramento failed to make the playoffs once again and now they have to decide whether they want to begin a rebuild and trade their big three of Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan or if they want to retool their roster around them.
Either way, the Kings’ main area of concern this summer is their hole at the point guard position, which they need to fill this offseason.
Of course, Sacramento had a star point guard in De’Aaron Fox until they traded him to the San Antonio Spurs at the trade deadline due to him not wanting to commit to the team long-term.

The Kings’ package in return for Fox was minimal due to Fox’s preferred destination being the Spurs, which hurt Sacramento’s return, though they did land LaVine from the Bulls in the deal.
Because of this, former Kings star Peja Stojakovic called out Fox’s agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports on Wednesday due to how he handled the Fox trade situation at the trade deadline.
Stojakovic said that Paul manipulated multiple teams as he controls where his Klutch clients go and that Paul “blackmailed teams” to trade Fox to the Spurs.
Because of this, Stojakovic believes that the Kings could have received a better deal for their star point guard from another team if it was not for Paul.
Stojakovic did not hold back while giving his thoughts about how Paul and Klutch Sports handled the Fox trade and he also makes a great point.
Leading up to the trade, there were many teams interested in Fox, though they seemed to back off as it was reported that the star guard wanted to land in San Antonio next to Victor Wembanyama.

Because of this, the Kings’ hands were tied and they had to settle for a below-average trade package for their superstar guard, which could cost them in the future.
