Trent Alexander Arnold has proved Liverpool fans right after his actions at his Real Madrid unveiling.

The full-back was presented to the Spanish media on Thursday - and he shocked football fans with his Spanish skills. And his language skills might just prove that the deal has been in the works for a while.

The Liverpudlian waved goodbye to his boyhood club after his contract expired in the summer - rocking up in Madrid in time for the Club World Cup.

Body language expert Darren Stanton told OLBG: “It doesn’t appear that he rehearsed what he said. You often see, with figures like Prince William who recently spoke in French, that individuals learn certain phrases to show commitment to their audience.

"But Trent Alexander-Arnold hasn’t learned that overnight, has he. He stumbled on a couple of things but I think it’s clear he had this moment in his mind for quite some time and he obviously planned for it, to learn the language.

“To learn to speak the language of the place you want to work shows a great deal of savviness and determination, and he delivered it very solemnly, very committed and very authentic.

“He was quite nervous too because obviously to deliver something in a different language, with all the world's media in front of you, that’s a massive pressure. I think that takes some real courage really.”

He added: "“It’s been a long-term plan. He is not going to have achieved that level of competency and fluency in Spanish.

“We can extrapolate out from a person’s behavior and sometimes it's not just about body language, it's about things that people say and the things they allude to.

“I think that moving to Real Madrid, rather than possibly staying at Liverpool, was the long term plan all along.
